Benthic Macro-invertebrate Lab Assistant

Are you interested in working in a lab and getting experience working with an environmental research institute? Volunteer as a Benthic Macro-invertebrate Lab Assistant with rare.

Tasks:

  • Assist in picking benthic macro-invertebrate from spring samples
  • Assist in sorting and identification of benthic macro-invertebrate samples onto petri dishes

We are asking volunteers to commit a minimum of 2 hours at a time in the lab, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience/or skills sorting and/or identification of benthic macro-invertebrate
  • OBBN certificate would be an asset

Training Provided:

Training on how to sort and identify benthic macro-invertebrate will be provided.
