Opportunities at rare
To work in nature – in its preservation for the benefit of our community, our environment and our health – is a privilege that can give back several fold. Operating on just under 1,000 acres, rare provides that opportunity and requires the efforts of many within our community to ensure that all things ‘rare’ will continue for generations to come. Should we have any positions available – for either full or part time staff or volunteers, we will post in this section. In the interim, we invite you to learn more about who we are, what we do – and we invite you to participate in the many events which showcase everything rare has to offer.

“Working as a natural heritage assistant for rare Charitable Research Reserve has taught me valuable information and field skills that will help me with my career in the future. I believe the natural heritage position is the most beneficial summer job I could have applied for, as I learned and worked with many fascinating species and people, beefed up my resume, and spent time outdoors- everything students look for in a great and meaningful summer job!” –Lucas Short, Natural Heritage Assistant, 2014
“The rare Charitable Research Reserve is a special place, and I would recommend the rare experience to anyone my age looking for a truly enjoyable summer student opportunity that goes beyond just resume building” –Helena Reinfels, Gardens Summer Student, 2014
