ECO Camp Volunteer Leader

By volunteering your time you will be helping youth to create a meaningful relationship with nature and assist in educating the next generation so they grow up caring about conservation. You will also gain work experience in a fun, natural environment while improving your leadership skills.

Tasks

  • Facilitate games, crafts, activities and hikes in coordination with the Educators
  • Ensure camp is a fun, educational experience
  • Keep campers safe, be aware of environmental hazards
  • Encourage respect for other campers, staff, nature and the property

Requirements

Volunteers should have experience working with children and working in an outdoor setting. A background in ecology, environmental sciences, physical geography, or education is an asset. This position is best suited for someone who is enthusiastic about educating children, physically fit to hike around the property, and with good communication skills.

A Police Vulnerable Sectors Check is required (a letter from rare can be issued to receive this check at a reduced volunteer rate).

Volunteers should be at a minimum 15 years of age or have completed Grade 9.
