rare's Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

Following the Provincial Government and the Region of Waterloo’s restrictions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, we have closed our offices, but our business continues with rare staff and volunteers working remotely as much as possible as of March 2020. All rare staff continue to respond to emails and phone messages that we receive. Please stay in touch, we want to hear from you and look forward to connecting.

Many of our events continue to be held online, but as guidelines have eased, some in-person events have resumed, with attendees required to wear masks and maintain social distancing where possible. Details about these upcoming events can be seen on our Events Calendar. The 12+ kilometres of trails at rare remain open and free to the public for your enjoyment. Nature can be a refuge at a time when so many of us are experiencing the anxiety of current circumstances and isolation, so please take the time to breathe in the fresh air! We depend so much on nature, and our efforts to enjoy and protect the land are more important now than ever, because of the many benefits it can provide to us in times of crisis. If you would like to contribute to rare’s efforts in conservation during this challenging time, please click here and help our work continue.

If you have any questions, concerns or messages to share with rare staff, please don’t hesitate to do so. Our contact information can be found on this page, and we will make sure to address any comments as soon as possible.

We thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this pandemic.

Sincerely,
Your friends at rare.
