Our Invasive Species Pulls and Native Plant Propagation Programs

Keeping the lands we steward in a natural and healthy state takes a lot of work. We are grateful to our volunteers who help us fight back against invasive species and work to protect, gather and propagate native plants on the lands we steward.

Join us, and help keep the lands we steward a healthy haven for native plants!

Our Native Plant Propagation Events

On certain Tuesdays, rare staff and volunteers participate in Seed Collection Walks. We gather at rare's Lamb's Inn offices and head out onto the trails, identifying native plants going to seed, and sustainably collecting those seeds for future planting. Please come dressed for the weather and prepared for a walk on our trails. On certain Tuesdays, we also spend time at Springbank Farm, maintaining the Land Management greenhouse, planting and nurturing native plant seedlings for later replanting.

Our Invasive Species Pulls

On Thursdays, rare staff and volunteers gather at Lamb's Inn and head out onto the property to find and remove invasive species from our trails, waterways and forest floors. Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and shocks as well as loose, comfortable clothing that can get dirty. We recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt that can be tucked in and a sunhat. You should also bring a refillable water bottle, snacks and/or a packed lunch, work gloves, sunscreen and insect repellant.
