Scholarship Applications

rare supports excellence in graduate research and art through the competitive annual Ages Foundation Fellowship & Bursaries program.

We recognize that historical and present-day barriers exist that disadvantage Black, Indigenous and other People of Colour (BIPOC) from pursuing higher education. The Ages Foundation Fellowship & Bursaries program, therefore, includes a dedicated BIPOC award. Up to $15,000 will be distributed annually in the following amounts: one $5,000 award, one $5,000 BIPOC award, and up to five $1,000+ bursaries.

‍Email scholarship applications with an accompanying project application to rare’s Conservation Scientist (research@raresites.org). Successful recipients will be notified by ~ end of April.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a graduate student who will be conducting a project at rare during the calendar year for the current scholarship competition. Click here to learn about applying for a project at rare.
Your project has an environmental focus and will utilize rare as a field site, case study or in some other capacity.
You have not received any previous scholarships from the Ages Foundation Fellowship & Bursaries program.
