Are you a teenager looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities?  Join us in the gardens at rare as we work together to prepare Springbank Farm for the 2024 growing season.

The Benefits of Volunteering at rare’s Springbank Farm include:

  • You will help grow healthy organic produce for your local Food Bank.
  • Gardening provides a sense of hands on accomplishment while providing stress relief and improved mood.
  • Build confidence and new skills while learning from other gardeners
  • Increased awareness of basic gardening skills, healthy eating, and sustainable food systems
  • Healthy physical activity in the out-of-doors
  • Earn volunteer hours

Tasks may include: weeding, watering, planting, raking and shoveling compost and mulch.

You will need:

  • Liability form signed by your parent or guardian
  • Transportation to and from the garden
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Sunscreen / sun hat
  • Drinking water

We supply:

  • Guidance
  • Tools

After completing a volunteer session, a rare staff member will sign off on your school’s volunteer form.
