Young Environmental Science Writers Workshop

Young Environmental Science Writers Workshop

We are proud to partner with the Guelph Institute for Environmental Research, the University of Guelph and Musagetes in supporting Young Environmental Science Writers as they prepare for a week-long workshop for high school students. From July 18-22, aspiring environmental writers are invited to join a new generation of scholars at the interface of environmental science and environmental art. Our students today are tomorrow’s leaders who will inspire us to take action to protect our environment and deal with climate change, and this workshop will encourage aspiring writers down that path. As Dr. Madhur Anand, Director of the Guelph Institute for Environmental Research, states, “It is critical that we provide our youth with opportunities to chart new pathways and to rethink the way they deal with environmental and human crises.”

This week-long interactive writing workshop is hosted by rare and the University of Guelph. This program will connect high school students with world-class environmental science researchers, creative writers, and Indigenous knowledge keepers who will help them connect with their surroundings and guide them in new ways of articulating environmental issues.

The workshop runs all week from July 18-22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is FREE to all students, but space is limited. Further details can be found at this website, and anyone interested in attending should apply by filling out this form.
